Pine Run Health Center recently completed a nearly two-year renovation project that is transforming the facility and the services it offers for both short- and long-term patients.
Additional private rooms and updated bathrooms were added to the 90-bed silled nursing floors – along with an expanded therapy gym, private spa rooms, and restaurant-style menu and dining options, including a bistro on most oors for patients and visitors. The floors are arranged in “Transitions” neighborhoods that are focused on short-term, rehabilitative services for cardiac, orthopedic and complex medical care needs.
The Garden, a 40-bed, secure dementia neighborhood, is located on the top floor of the five-story Health Center. Services include individualized support plans and life enrichment programs such as daily activities and trips.
The Willows neighborhood offers a small, intimate setting for end-of-life care, including palliative, comfort and hospice services.
“The renovation and refocus on the continuum of care at Pine Run Health Center strengthens the ability of our health system to remain a high-uality, efffcient provider of care though all stages of life,” said Jim Brexler, President and CEO of Doylestown Health.
The Pine Run Health Center was originally constructed 39 years ago and is part of the Pine Run Community, located on Ferry Road near the border of Doylestown and New Britain townships. The Health Center and Community are part of Doylestown Health. Pine Run Retirement Community has 272 cottages and 24 apartments situated on the 43-acre campus. An additional 107-bed personal care facility, Pine Run Lakeview, is located on Lower State Road, Doylestown.
“With these extensive renovations and a refreshed vision of excellence in healthcare delivery, Pine Run Health Center is ready for the next generation of healthcare consumer who seeks value and superior outcomes, said Cathleen Stewart, executive director of Pine Run Community.
A variety of updated amenities include a private dining area for family gatherings, secure outdoor patio, enhanced natural lighting, soothing color scheme and new furnishings throughout. A concierge welcomes and is ready to assist patients and visitors.
“All the facility and program changes make it easier for people to get better because they’re in a bright, clean and healthy environment,” said James Blore, MD, medical director. “These enhancements help people feel at home.”
