Pine Run’s Health Center Management Team rallied around a masterful superhero theme to celebrate a bang-up job on the annual skilled nursing survey in February conducted by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

“It takes three shifts and a lot of muscle to run the building and keep communications flowing,” noted Director of Nursing Michelle Chamberlain.

“We take pride in 170 superheroes who had the stamina to keep up with the regulatory changes and training needed this past year to earn an excellent survey,” said Senior Administrator Michelle Haughney.

Pine Run Health Center Receives Excellent Survey

The Pine Run Health Center was proud to receive an excellent annual survey report from the Pennsylvania Department of Health on Friday, February 23. The unscheduled nursing care inspections are conducted to make sure state and federal regulations for care are followed. Over a three-day period, the team of four surveyors visited Pine Run to audit resident records, observe protocols for care and staff interactions, as well as to interview residents and family members. They complimented Pine Run on its teamwork between staff with nurses helping aides and vice versa. Pine Run had one minor deficiency in infection control, and a plan of correction has been completed. In addition to being in compliance with state and federal regulations, the surveyors commented on Pine Run’s initiative in adapting to new regulations.

Nursing Home Administrator Michelle Haughney exudes, “The team at Pine Run works diligently day in and day out to ensure safe and thorough compliance with regulations, so when the surveyors come, we are ready. A true measure of our success is the collaboration and true caring for each other that makes Pine Run the special place it is. This quality of care is frequently commented on in patient satisfaction surveys as well as returning patients who tell us that Pine Run is their first choice. I am exceedingly proud of the Pine Run team.”

Additionally, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Division of Safety Inspection, surveyed Pine Run’s compliance with the Life Safety Code including electrical systems, plumbing, heating, ventilation, fire alarm, sprinkler and smoke-detection equipment. Sean Wallace, maintenance mechanic, was commended for overseeing the on-going compliance programs by Senior Director of Plant Operations Charlie Moore.

Pine Run’s 90-bed Health Center for comprehensive rehabilitation, long-term care, and palliative care is situated on a quiet country hillside overlooking 43 scenic acres on Ferry Road in Bucks County.
