Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, was a special occasion for one of our Residents in The Garden, thanks to our culinary team in the Pine Run Health Center.
During her one-on-one activities in The Garden, Pine Run Retirement Community’s memory care neighborhood, life enrichment assistant Wendy Stubb discussed the meaning and traditions of Rosh Hashanah with one of our Jewish Residents.
“He remembered the wonderful potato pancakes his mother would make with sour cream.”
Wendy spoke with the culinary team in the Pine Run Health Center to see if they could make some latkes for him as part of their celebration, and they certainly came through.
“The Resident loved them,” said Wendy. “He said they reminded him of the ones his mother used to make. I can’t thank our dining team enough for honoring our requests that we give them for all our different events, parties, and special events. They never fail us. I hope they all know how many smiles they put on the faces of the Residents of The Garden.”
