After the Tour – What’s Next?
A move to Pine Run Retirement Community in Doylestown PA almost always starts with a tour of the community and several visits to a variety of cottages and apartments. When individuals or couples are thinking of a move to a senior living community the topic of timing is an important consideration, along with the style of home you are interested in, community amenities, and cost.
Why Is Timing Important?

As you work with your Pine Run Sales Director, it is important for them to know your timeline for a move. During your meetings and calls with them, they will help identify a desired style or styles of homes that you are looking for and an ideal time for your move and work with you to come up with a plan.
Currently, Pine Run has limited inventory that is available for an immediate move. Often the open inventory is select studio and one bedroom homes. For those looking for a larger space, or a specific location on campus, joining the Wait List may be a way to ensure that your preferred residence is available when you are ready to make a move.
What is the Wait List?
A community’s Wait List is ideal for those who aren’t ready to move now, but may be ready in the future. You don’t want to wait two years to be ready, only to discover that the community has a wait list of two more years before your preferred residence would become available for you. Pine Run’s Wait List is a way to help manage the timing of a move to ensure that we’re ready for you when you’re ready for us!
How Do I /We Join?

Joining the Pine Run Wait List is a simple process. We ask for a written application, your preferred style of home(s), and a refundable deposit of $1,000 plus a $500 per person application fee. While on the list, you can turn down offers and maintain your place on the Wait List if residences come up early or if they’re not quite what you are looking for. It is not uncommon for Wait List Members to change their preferences for home styles while on the Wait List. For example, a couple may join the Wait List for a Doylestown Cottage. After several years, they may find they’d like to expand their choices to include a Solebury Deluxe or a Fringetree Apartment. We are happy to make those changes realizing that preferences and circumstances are as unique as each individual. What remains the same on the Wait List is the date that someone joins. That is the date by which Pine Run Sales Directors make cottage/apartment offers to Wait List Members.
Upon joining the Pine Run Wait List, we will also offer to take a look at your financial status to make sure that the style of home you are waiting for is an affordable option. You will be asked to fill out a confidential financial application to be reviewed by the Pine Run Chief Financial Officer. This is not required at this point, but it is highly recommended.
I’ve Joined the Wait List. Now What?

While on the wait list, your Sales Director will reach out when certain cottages or apartments become available. Similar to your first visit, you’ll come to campus and see the available home and location. While on campus, we are also happy to arrange for you to meet Villagers for a meal or to visit parts of the campus that you haven’t explored yet. From time to time, we also host exclusive events for Wait List members.
You’ve Found The One!
The call comes in, an appointment is set, and you love what you see. The cottage or apartment is what you’ve been waiting for. Now what?
Financial and Medical Review

Each applicant to Pine Run must be financially and medically qualified before becoming a Villager at Pine Run. For financial qualification, we ask each individual/couple to submit paperwork outlining their income and assets so that we can ensure a good financial fit for both the Villager and for Pine Run. Once approved financially, we request basic medical information from the applicant(s) and their physician. Moving to a continuing care retirement community like Pine Run is an investment in your future healthcare, and a medical review with a community’s clinical team allows them to get a baseline of your health status. While you can continue to use your own doctors, you may often be able to take advantage of the clinical services offered by the community. Additionally, most communities, including Pine Run, have certain health requirements for people moving into Independent Living.
Contract Signing
At this point, you’ve selected a residence and have secured all of the approvals to become a Pine Run Villager and are in the home stretch. Pine Run requires 10% of the Entrance Fee as a deposit, with the remaining balance due after your home sells. It is at this point that most people place their home on the market.
