Pine Run Retirement Community Promotes Active Aging in the


7th Annual
WALK! With Aegis Therapies
Event

All levels of living at Pine Run Retirement Community participated in the 7th annual WALK! With Aegis Therapies event held on Thursday, October 1. Led by Director of Rehabilitative Services, Annalia Briones, and Life Enrichment Teams in three locations, the guided walks were part of a slate of activities highlighting the dimensions of wellness – intellectual, emotional, spiritual, occupational and social. Active Aging confirms the philosophy that individuals can live fully within these dimensions.

Special Guest, Chef Darin Leonardson, Director of Hospitality and Dining for Aegis Therapies, rewarded a robust crowd of residents, family members, volunteers, and associates with a healthy cooking demonstration featuring delicious recipes for lively salsa, energizing salads, and antioxidant smoothies in our Pine Run Health Center.

The sample platters were eagerly devoured!

This wellness journey created fun interactive moments that sparked anticipation, whetted appetites, and created memories for hundreds of residents and families at Pine Run Village, Pine Run Health Center and Lakeview Personal Care.

Board-certified and fellowship-trained breast surgeon, Donna Angotti, MD, FACS, will speak on the importance of well-breast care.

Dr. Angotti will address early detection through advanced screening options including digital mammograms, ultrasound, and 3T MRI. Additionally, she will address surgical treatments including breast-sparing techniques.

Donna Angotti, MD specializes in breast health, the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer and the care of high-risk patients.

Dr. Angotti has practiced in Bucks and Montgomery counties for more than 20 years. Her practice bridges traditional medicine with complementary modalities when appropriate.

“We spent the day wandering around meeting people and saw the variety of ways everyone was involved in something,” says Richard Egan, now a Pine Run resident with his wife Carolyn. A convivial evening of laughter and conversation over dinner wrapped up a day full of discovery for them both. “That was when we had our big ‘Aha!’ moment,” said Richard. “We looked around and realized that we not only liked the community experience but saw how easily we could fit into that environment; specifically, the culture we found at Pine Run.”
