A Midsummer Night’s Dream Party at Pine Run

A Midsummer Night’s Dream Party at Pine Run

A Midsummer Night’s Dream Party at Pine RunA Midsummer Night’s Dream Party at Pine Run was replete with culinary delights, twinkling lights, and a dreamy dance by Villager Pat Fey and Champion Junior Dancer Jackson Brexler.

More than 100 partygoers circulated through food and beverage stations extending from the Art Barn to the deck overlooking the pond. Smoked salmon, Swedish meatballs, and abundant Scandinavian cheeses set on wood platters were the perfect complement to the summer solstice celebration held on the longest day of the year.

The happy crowd was drawn to the activity room for the grand finale: a dance to Frank Sinatra’s “The Way You Look Tonight” by Villager Pat Fey and Champion Junior Dancer Jackson Brexler. Their flawless spin capped a blissful start to the summer season.

The Garden Cruise Party

Life in The Garden, a specialized memory care neighborhood located atop the Health Center at Pine Run, is enriched by familiar pleasures. Administrator Mary Beth Baringer enthused about a Caribbean cruise party full of memorable moments.

On June 1, the S.S. Garden “set sail” for a midday Caribbean “cruise” with more than 100 Garden residents, family members, and crew on board. Island music, nautical decorations, and tropical treats transformed The Garden into a sunlit ship deck. A themed photo booth and spirited dancing highlighted the family fun.

Scientific research is showing that mindful breathing — paying attention to your breath and learning how to manipulate it — is one of the most effective ways to lower everyday stress levels and improve a variety of health-related factors ranging from mood to metabolism. Mindful breath control is all at once a physical health practice, mental health practice, and meditation. It is not just breath training; it’s also mind training that uses breath as a vehicle and can make your entire life better.

Pine Run Egg Hunt 2019We want to thank Tracy Mullarkey and Brian Taing, for orchestrating a fun and fanciful family event on Saturday, April 20. Colorful eggs, determined children, and proud parents combined to create a sweet haul for the day!

A jubilant crowd joined in the traditional celebration of spring. Due to nippy weather outside, the bountiful hunt was held inside the Cottonwood Cafe, and the photos capture the enthusiasm and friendly spirit of children hoping to fill their baskets.
