After the Event: Alzheimer’s Walk
Memory Walk at Pine Run raises $2,500
More than 100 Villagers, family members, and associates at Pine Run and Lakeview Communities took vigorous steps all week to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association. From October 13th to 15th, dozens of inspired participants clipped on pedometers to count their collective daily steps for the annual event. The campaign finale took place on October 16 with a big crowd mobilized for a scenic walk around the Ferry Road campus. The final tally was 1,389,643 recorded steps and $2,500 in collected donations. A nationwide event since 1993, Memory Walks have raised more than $55 million to fight Alzheimer’s Disease. An Alzheimer’s Support Group meets regularly at Lakeview Personal Care Community on Lower State Road in Doylestown. Contact Maureen Riley at 215-489-7117 for more information.
