40th Anniversary Party

Pine Run

40th Anniversary Party

A capacity crowd toasted the history of Pine Run at the 40th Anniversary “Hollywood” themed Gala held on July 13, 2016. Always a celebrated event, this year’s party created considerable buzz compared to previous fetes. “We really shifted into high gear,” enthused Director of Life Enrichment Ceil Krajewski. “From the amazing hors d’oeuvres, to the glittering gowns and passionate speeches, the evening unfolded as one of the best on record.”

The guest list included Villagers living at Pine Run along with associate hosts and hostesses, and several ranks of leadership from Doylestown Hospital. President and CEO Jim Brexler, in attendance with his lovely wife Kelly, scanned the partying crowd and happily noted, “I am reminded how active and participative the Villagers are, and how you love to eat and drink.” Mr. Brexler continued his remarks with a toast to the past 40 years, and “to ongoing excitement ‘to infinity and beyond.’ ”

Walks on the red carpet rolled out for the occasion gave chance for warm greetings and fun photographs with Allure West’s Natalie and Jung Wi in the “bubble booth.” The golden “Oscar” statue provided another popular spot for group shots and commentary on the disco era. Marge Dunkelberger, in residence almost 25 years at Pine Run, youthfully mugged with Senior Director of Human Resources Anne Bobek who recently marked 20 years of service. Connections run deep in the community and heartfelt smiles were also given to Bob Long, a new resident in Magnolia Cluster, as he embraced his grandson, Colin Ringenary, an up-and-coming cook at Pine Run. Bob’s father, Randolph Long, resided in the community from 1991-2000.

Champagne was flowing throughout the affair, along with other conventional libations, and party-goers were free to sample from sumptuous food stations. The seafood buffet included cold crab claws, steamed clams and mussels, and a selection of smoked fish with delectable sauces. At the cooked-to-order station, chefs carved tender New Zealand rack of lamb and sided plates with a creamy Chanterelle mushroom risotto. The Surf-n-Turf dinner orchestrated by Chef Ernst Friedermann featured succulent filet mignon and a buttery lobster tail. Kerry Cameron fired up the burners for the eye catching finale of cherries jubilee dished over scoops of vanilla ice cream.

The festivities were topped by 70’s style entertainment by Frank Sinatra crooner Peter Scott Ruben. In character as Ole Blue Eyes, Ruben faithfully replicated vintage tunes from Sinatra’s heyday. The entire affair was truly an encore to four decades Pine Run has served generations of families in Bucks County.
