Pine Run Chowder Fest
Bringing six unique flavor contenders to the simmering scene in the auditorium at 3 pm on Friday, September 26, Pine Run’s 2nd Annual Chowderfest Contest attracted a hungry crowd of prospective residents and Villagers. Chefs from the Village, Lakeview, and the Pine Run Health Center were on-hand to ladle sample tastings of traditional red and white seafood stocks brimming with crab, lobster, clams, oysters, farm fresh vegetables and beef.
Participants took voting slips to festively set tables circling the venue, and sipped cocktails or specialty beers while considering their votes for the best tasting chowder. With over 120 ballots cast, the
Cheeseburger Chowder, created by Chef Matt Meyers, emerged as the
souper hero
of the event.
Meyers’ winning chowder will be featured at Pine Run’s Fall Festival on Saturday, October 11.
