Living each day the way you choose . . . that’s independent living. Focus on interests, talents and shared pursuits with family and friends. Those freedoms are all that much sweeter because a practical plan for the future is in place for you at Pine Run Retirement Community in Doylestown.
The Pine Run Community Center
Pine Run Retirement Community’s dedication to wellness can be seen clearly at the Pine Run Community Center, affectionately known as “The Hub.”
Opened in 2019, the 37,000-square-foot Community Center features an auditorium, two dining venues, and a fitness and aquatics center to promote healthy living. The state-of-the-art facilities were designed with the understanding that health and wellness are multi-dimensional, encompassing the whole person.
Residents and visitors alike find their way here for haircuts, mail, meetings, entertainment, banking, fitness, the concierge and a convenient country store. The community center is also where you can pick up a game of billiards, join in book discussions, or engage in conversation over cocktails in the welcoming Grille or fireside in the lounge.
Fitness Center Supports Physical Activity
Research clearly demonstrates that it’s never too late to start or get back into physical activity. Whether it’s swimming, walking, yoga, Tai Chi, or lifting weights, exercise is one of the best things a person can do to maintain or boost all aspects of health. From improving sleep to reducing depression to promoting cognitive, heart and overall health, a wellness program offers older adults the chance to thrive.
Pine Run residents have boundless opportunities to exercise in the 6,777-square-foot fitness center, which is equipped with state of the art Matrix and Nu-Step strength training and fitness equipment, plus a therapy table, free weights, power-bands, ballerina-balance barre and much more. Fitness at Pine Run is highly personalized; programs are offered at the individual’s own pace and are supported by caring, trained professionals. Pine Run’s Healthy Living and Wellness Team seeks input from Villagers, Residents and Associates alike as it plans new programs.
Aquatics Center Offers Exercise and Recreation
Furthering its commitment to wellness, Pine Run offers aquatic programming with a stunning 40-foot by 20-foot pool. Featuring tiles in soothing colors, the 4-foot-deep pool includes a wheelchair lift, specially designed stairs, and surrounding railings for full accessibility. It is enclosed in a welcoming room with 8-foot-high stone accent walls, decorative sconces, acoustic cinder block to soften noise, and speakers to broadcast music and programming.
Pine Run’s senior aquatic program offers users opportunities to enjoy the countless benefits of swimming and water exercise in a beautiful space, flooded with natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows, which can open to the inviting deck weather-permitting. Several multi-level aquatic therapy classes are offered to meet the needs and interests of Villagers, who also are encouraged to invite visiting family, including grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to join them in the pool.
